Yes, and I love them. I use them on my 8 and a half month old and have since about 2 months. They are a bit bulky and take longer to put on, but for the price, they are great. They wash well, and they are very absorbent. I have the one-size-fits-all and use the Rikkik wrap over top. This is their second baby and they still look great. I like the snaps, baby can’t pull them off and they don’t stick together in the wash. I put them on her in the morning when she is still in her sleepers because they don’t fit well under her clothes. You can buy ones that are specific sizes, the Sandy’s diaper, I have a couple and they are less bulky than the one size diaper. I also love their swim diapers. You can also buy liners for them if you need more absorbency.

And they are Canadian!!

Cloth Diapers Becoming More Popular Than Disposable Diapers

Obviously, the first reason and over-stated reason for using cloth diapers is to save the planet from too much garbage that cannot be recycled or are not biodegradable.

Right. Try telling this to the new sleep-deprived mother who is super harassed by a new baby’s feeding schedule, and  need for constant supervision and attention. That extra hour that she would be using to do diaper laundry can be an extra hour she could use to take a nap, or put up her legs, or simply enjoy a “me time.”

The best way to sell the idea of using cloth diapers to a mother who would rather have convenience above all else is to tell her that her baby can be potty trained early – as early as 6 month ahead of the expected and normal schedule.

It would be like saying goodbye to diapers forever. How is this possible?

It’s simple. The cloth diapers will allow your baby to recognize the signs of feeling wet and uncomfortable. Your baby will know earlier what happens before urinating or otherwise, and be willing to try the potty to escape the feeling of being wet and soiled.

It’s really like a conditioning tool you can use that can be reinforced with verbal encouragement and talk. You’d be surprised to find out that studies have been conducted and the babies that use cloth diapers are more inclined to want to go to the potty than those who use disposable diapers. The main reason is disposable diapers are more absorbent, so the baby does not really have that sensation of being wet or damp.

Imagine that – you can actually have a baby who knows how to go to the potty even before he or she turns two years old, and it does not matter whether the baby is a boy or girl.

Finally, another advantage is the money issue. Disposable diapers are very expensive to maintain for 24 months or more. Unlike the cloth diapers which are reusable diapers, you can just calculate how much you will spend in the next year alone if you use an average of 4 to 6 disposable diapers a day. The amount you spend will not even cover a quarter of what you would spend on diaper detergent or water. That money could go to something else – like a new baby toy every month or clothes for mommy and baby. The possibilities are endless.
